President: David Markle BSN, RN, VA-BC is the Venous Access Coordinator at AdventHealth Celebration. He started his Vascular Access career as an LPN in 2015 and has over 20 years' experience in healthcare. David earned his VA-BC in 2016 and joined AVA the same year. He is also a member of the Infusion Nurses Society. David is passionate about Vascular Access Board Certification and is an advocate in assisting others on their journey to become certified.

Presidential Advisor: Meagan Capen APRN, CPNP-AC, MSN, RN, VA-BC is a Pediatric Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando. She began her Vascular Access journey with PICC insertions in 2009 and implementation of Ultrasound Guided Vascular Access in 2010. Meagan played an integral role in developing and implementing the Vascular Access Team at Arnold Palmer Hospital in December of 2014 and grew the team from two members to eight members by 2018! Meagan earned VA-BC certification in 2015 and has assisted seven of her fellow team members to earn their VA-BC.

Treasurer: Amanda Pierce BSN, RN, VA-BC is a Senior Clinical Sales Specialist-Vascular at Teleflex Incorporated. She began her journey with Vascular Access in 2015 after working in the Pediatric ICU for 10 years at Tampa General Hospital. Amanda gained more knowledge working in the Pediatric ICU and CVICU at Arnold Palmer Hospital, then became a full time member of the APH Vascular Access Team, where she earned her VA-BC certification in 2016. Amanda also worked per diem as a clinical educator for Teleflex, then became a full time Clinical Sales Specialist in 2018. Amanda is expertly trained in neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adult vascular access techniques; she loves to share her knowledge and expertise in the vascular access community throughout the United States!

Secretary: Austin Green BSN, RN, VA-BC is the Vascular Access Assistant Nurse Manager at AdventHealth Waterman. He has worked in vascular access since 2019 and quickly found his calling in nursing. Austin started in the medical field in 2009 as a surgical assistant for an oral surgeon, then became a nurse in 2016 starting in Oncology. He enjoys teaching, learning, and finding creative solutions to problems. Austin is a Husband and a father to four young children and loves to sing and play guitar.
